Devon and Somerset Wedding Photographer

My last Devon wedding of year and what a fun way to end 2017! Tiki torches, candelabra’s, fairy lights, fire pits, an epic Scottish drummer band, and swinging wire wool to make an epic final wedding photo of the night!

This wedding rocked! Alana and Stu are such an easy going couple, they had no formal wedding photo requests, they just wanted a fun wedding to remember. They hired the cottages and barn at Higher Eggbeer, a wedding venue in Devon, and all got up together and cooked breakfast. With their beautiful children playing about the cottage, eggs and bacon frying, and the venue’s dog following me wherever I went I knew it was going to be an ace day. Actually I knew it was going to be an ace day when Alana emailed me about the band, who they booked to come down from Scotland, “think half naked, tattooed, Scots men banging big drums and playing pipes”, she described. The band were on fire! Their energy filled the room and permeated anyone in close vicinity! Alana had a mistletoe bouquet, isn’t that great! There was tons of mistletoe hanging in every doorway so I wouldn’t be surprised if there were a few cheeky Christmas kisses!

This was a humanist wedding ceremony, I totally love that. The celebrant had a focus on it being truly heart felt as more time was given to talk about love, and with Alana and Stu reading their own vows there were a few tears being shed.

I always love a couple up for trying something new and creative, these two were game. With that, we got some stunning photos using light from candles, from torches, and from wool wire.

A Scottish Christmas wedding. Energetic, romantic, and fun! Loved it.
