Pet Photography Somerset UK

Dog Photography Wellington Somerset

Dogs and cats are our family. Let’s do a pet photoshoot of you and your incredible pet. I would be honoured to capture something so precious. During the time, we’ll get all sorts of shots including you and your pet together, your pet on its own, and playing with a ball, a toy etc. Be sure to bring treats so we can capture your dog staying still.

Cats and dogs; they’re our therapy, they’re our friends. Dogs understand us. Or at least that’s how they make us feel. Your connection to your dog, I’m sure, has been life changing. No doubt your dog keeps you going with their unconditional love, their companionship, and their love for life. They can’t even speak, and yet we feel closer to them than some humans. Seeing your dog connect with you in a photograph is something I just can’t put words to, and very much want to capture for you.

I’m the volunteer photographer at St Giles Animal Centre, Taunton, hoping to show prospective owners how gorgeous these animals are and help them get a home sooner rather than later. To learn more about me, you can click the About tab at the top.

Pricing details are below. For the shorter shoots, it can either take place here in the town of Wellington, at the park, which is 5 mins from the M5 off J26, or in Staple Hill woods. For the longer shoots, we can head to the Quantocks.

FAQ

What if the weather is bad?

As you'd be booking within short notice, hopefully the weather shouldn't be an issue. We'll check the forecast the night before, and it may be that we have to change.
A bright sunny day isn't always the best weather as it creates harsh shadows, so look out for a partly cloudy day.

How do I receive my images?

You'll receive a link with which you can select and download your images. You can also purchase prints on this link too.

What happens during a pet photoshoot, and what should I bring?

The aim is to have fun, to be natural as you normally would be, interacting with your pet. I'll aim to get some of you both, playing together and smiling at the camera too. As well as some action shots (depending on the animal of course).

I'll need you to give commands for the shots if your pet is a dog, such as sit and stay, and run etc. I'll need you to hold up some treats to get your dog to stay still for a close up portrait of their face.

Terms

1. Payment is due at time of booking;
2. Either of us can cancel at any time, and your date can be changed;
3. You're agree that the images can be used by myself for promotional purposes, which helps me find people like you;
4. You are responsible for the health and safety of you and your pet during the session, and will release the photographer from all claims, damages, and liabilities that may result from accidents or incidents during the session.
5. Travel included within 2 miles of Wellington, Somerset. £0.45 per mile after that.
6. Shoot needs to be booked at short notice. When you're ready to go, provide a handful of dates and times over the next 2 weeks, so we can have more certainty on the weather.
7. Images are legally copyright to Fiona Walsh. Images are purchased with a personal use license. i.e., you cannot enter them into competitions or magazines without my permission.

Where does it take place?

If your pet is a dog the photoshoot will take place outdoors, and there a couple of nice places here in Wellington, Somerset that I usually use e.g., Wellington park, and Staple Hill.
Depending on the animal (such as a cat), and the distance from me, it could be at your home too.
